It’s official. It’s holiday season kick off! It’s hard to believe that it’s already November. The most wonderful time of the year rolling through, holiday cheer in the air, and we can smell Thanksgiving dinner now! But there’s much more to November than that. Feeding America is the nation’s largest domestic hunger-relief organization. You can search for your local food bank on it their website and donate.

Meals on Wheels
Meals on Wheels is a nationwide program that delivers hot meals to elderly people and others in need of food. During the Thanksgiving holiday, the organization invites volunteers to help provide meals for local senior communities where residents may not have someone visiting them. “My grandfather had Meals on Wheels come to his home every other day throughout his battle with Stage 4 Lymphoma Cancer. They treated him so well and they’re customer service is very friendly! Big thank you to them,” says Alina (assistant at Family Matters.)

Spend time with those who may not have family to visit them around the holidays. You can sing or read, play cards, or simply share stories and cookies together.
